A donor outreach campaign for UW College of Arts & Sciences Corporate and Foundation Relations department to benefit the UW's Partnership for Healthy Parenting's-(PHP) faculty and research projects.
AT A GLANCE
The UW College of Arts & Sciences Partnership for Healthy Parenting (PHP) is a research program dedicated to promoting healthy bonds between incarcerated mothers and their newborns. The project is conducted at the Washington Corrections Center for Women, one of fewer than 10 programs nationwide that allow incarcerated mothers to reside with their infants. The College's Corporate and Foundation Relations team prioritized this program as a funding opportunity for prospective donors. Challenges for donors to access and see the research in person led to a digital outreach campaign that helped fundraisers illustrate the ground breaking research done at UW.
GOALS & OBJECTIVES
OUTCOMES
The CAS marketing team produced a short video capturing researchers working with incarcerated mothers and their children. The video was distributed through personal interactions between front-line fundraisers and donors. The video continues to gain interest from prospective donors and can be easily accessible and shared. Outreach efforts included print and digital collateral summarizing the program. A one-pager was created to be used as leave behind item for further reading. A website landing was developed to house the unlisted video link for sharing privately.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
My role involved developing a visual storytelling solution to show the program's research by our faculty and students. I consulted with researchers on how best to produce the video. I wrote the script and edited the video. I worked with fundraising staff on developing content and design of a one-pager for donor outreach activities. I art directed our graphic designer to produce the one-pager design that could be updated and used as a template for other programs.
